Course Content

This course follows the Edexcel specification, and allows students to engage with a variety of different time periods through both breadth, and depth studies. Students will study an overview of Crime and Punishment from the year c.1000 through to the present day, before focusing on the historic environment of Whitechapel during the late 19th century when it was gripped with fear over an uncaught serial killer. The Early Elizabethan and Superpower Relations topics allow students to study a period of history in depth, becoming experts on the events and features of key moments in history, such as the early years of Elizabeth I’s reign and the Cold War. The final, Weimar and Nazi Germany, unit focuses on sources and interpretations, allowing students the opportunity to engage in historical debate and make their own judgements on Hitler’s rise to power and fascist rule.
