Jumbo Rasin Cookies

4 cup flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp soda

2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp allspice

1 cup water

1 cup shortening

2 cup raisins

2 cup sugar

3 ea eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup nuts, chopped

Mix dry ingredients. Add water to raisins and boil 5 min. or until liquid is decreased to 1/2 c. Cool. Cream shortening and sugar well. Add eggs one at a time; beating well after each addition. Add vanilla/nuts/and cooled raisins. Add sifted dry Ingredients and blend well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
