Ginger Creams

1/3 cup shortening

1/2 cup sugar

1 @ egg

1/2 cup molasses

1/2 cup water

2 cups flour

1 tsp. ginger

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. soda

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1/2 tsp. cloves

1/2 tsp. cinnamon


Mix thoroughly shortening,sugar, egg, molasses and water. Blend in remaining ingredients . Cover; chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 400. Drop by teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet. Bake 8 min. Immediately remove from cookie sheet; cool. Frost with vanilla frosting. Makes 4 dozen.
