Applets and Cotlets


2 Tblsp. Knox gelatin

1/2 cup fruit puree ( applesauce or apricots)

3/4 cup fruit puree

2 cups granulated sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

1 cup nuts, chopped

Mix 1/2 cup puree and gelatin. Let stand 10 minutes. In a 2 qt. pot mix together 3/4 cup puree and sugar. Boil 10 minutes. Add the gelatin mixture and boil for another 15 minutes. Stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into butted 8x8 pan. Let stand overnight. cut into squares and roll in powered sugar. You can use any fruit puree or nut. Strawberries taste wonderful.
