Q.2.What is the position of the Lee Family in Luzhou society ?
Originally, Luzhou was home to Pingpu tribe. During the years of the reign of Jiaqing, a large number of Han people(mostly belonging to the Lee family from Lee from the Quanzhou region) came and devenlopedthe area,eventually forming many villages. The male members of the Lee family started taking over the relevant governace of Luzhou, including trade and commerce, agricultural production, Yonglian temple, and even the nurturing of young talents. The degree to which the family was involved in all things Luzhou cemented the Lee Family's position in the area.
Q.3 What are the special in the Lee Estate ? Is anyone still living in there?
The Lee's Estate has a long history; it sits on more than 6000 square meters. What’s special about the house are its defensive features! The many trees planted on the grounds protect the house from prying eyes. The way all the rooms are linked and interconnected prevents potential damage from earthquakes.
Today, the Estate is open to the public for tours; nobody lives there anymore! It was designated as a national monument in 2018. It holds many experiential activities, regular and special events, allowing the legacy of relic culture be passed down from generation to generation.

The most well-known activity of Lee House is the one-year-old catch !
The Lee Estate also holds Anti-Drooling ceremonies to promote both the estate and Luzhou to the general public.
Q.5 What is the one-year-old catch ?
The one-year-old catch is the most important divination practice during a child's first year of life. It is the East Asian version of the aptitude test in the West. During the Tang and Song dynasties in China, it was upgraded to an important custom, and it has gradually developed into a family birthday party in modern times.
Q.6 When is the one-year-old catch held ? How to sign up? How to do the one-year-old catch?
There is no fixed time for the event! Reservations are made online, with people able to sign up anytime except Mondays and Tuesdays.
Order:
(1.) Have the baby wear traditional shoes, bib, and a tiger head.
Symbolizing protection from evil spirits and keep peace.
(2.) Hit the wisdom gong, touch the tiger master, then the golden egg (only found in the Lee Estate~)
Hitting on the gong symbolizes wisdom and usher in a beautiful life for the child.
Touching the tiger's head represents abundance in life; touching the tiger's mouth mean driving away evil and avoiding it;
Touching tiger's body, to grow and progress; touching the tiger's back, for prosperity;
Touching the tiger's tail to make things perfect; touching the tiger's feet, to excel academically.
The golden egg contains poems of good fortune.
(3.) The baby grabs three items.
(4.) Parents hold their children high.
Symbolizes superiorify.
(5.) The baby steps on the Ang Ku Kueh (red tortoise cake )with both feet.
One foot on longevity, the other on wealth, allowing him/her to grow up healthy and happy.
(6.) Give your baby puffed rice.

1.Wenchang First Writing Ceremony (mainly to pray for students who are going to start school)
2.Anti-Drooling Ceremony -The Anti-Drooling Ceremony is held to bless the baby, and hope that the child will no longer drool and grow up quickly.

Emperor Wenchang (Emperor Zitong) is the god of culture and literature who presides over academic achievements and academic literature. Wenchang first writing ceremony is a blessing activity held for preschool children in Chinese tradition. It ensures that children are blessed in all stages of their schooling!
Through Wenchang first writing ceremony, children can learn the value of diligent study, ethics, determination, and benevolence in the experience, and be imbued with the traditional virtues of filial piety and respect for teachers in the experience, in starting a new journey in life.
