Let’s talk about the history of Erchong Floodway
The Erchong Floodway is located between Sanchong, Wugu, Luzhou, and Xinzhuang, with a total length of 7.7 kilometers, an average width of 450 meters, and an area of 424 hectares. Implemented in 1982 and completed in 1984, its main purpose is to avoid the flooding of Sanchong and Luzhou (because Luzhou is a low-lying area, it will be flooded whenever it rains, so the Erchong Floodway is designed for flood control).
The Erchong Floodway has also built the longest "Durch Cycle Bike Path" in Taiwan. Along the Erchong Floodway towards the Danshui River, you can enjoy the beautiful natural scenery along the way.
To meet the residents' demand for leisure space, the Erchong floodway was fully greened, and the double floodway was successfully transformed into a beautiful and multi-functional place for relaxation. Multi-functional sports venues are also planned here, including basketball courts, volleyball courts, baseball (soft) courts, tennis courts, inline volleyball courts, football fields, dodging courts, handball courts, sandpits, water landscape areas, and other recreational facilities.
