Furniture Making

Course Description

In this subject students will develop both practical and design skills as well as increase their appreciation of the properties of wood by creating a folio and manufacturing a practical product, either a chair or a stool. Students will work with wood and have access to a range of tools and equipment and processes. The design process will include creation of a design brief, evaluation, planning, design creation and primary and secondary research for the production, including an awareness of sustainability.
