About the Scholarship:
Haley was a well-rounded student of the graduating class of 2012 from Stow-Munroe Falls High School. She was a four-year member of the Woman's Soccer and Lacrosse teams earning various accolades throughout her career. Haley was a percussionist in the band for 4 years and a squad and section leader for a year. She was also an avid artist taking AP Art her senior year and continued her drawing well after high school. Her community service primarily stemmed from being active in her church through the youth program and various outreach programs, such as, going to Work Camp every year to help build what was needed in a community in Frakes, Ky. Touring across the country with her youth choir and hand bell choir was one of her favorite things to do to spread a positive message through music and her church.
Haley continued her passion for soccer and lacrosse for 2 years at North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, NC before transferring back to the University of Akron to pursue the major of study in Sports Management.
We lost our Haley in a tragic car accident by the hands of a drunk driver on July 31, 2015. This scholarship has been set up with money donated to the family. Haley was someone who always wanted to help her friends when in need, so we feel honored to be able to continue her efforts in helping others as they find their way into college.
