Board of Education scholarship

The Board of Education Scholarship was established to award underrepresented students who may otherwise be passed over for scholarship consideration. The criteria for this scholarship are as follows:

• Grade Point Average: 2.0 or higher.

• Volunteerism: A demonstrated commitment and dedication to volunteering in community activities or school activities.  Please note:  This is committed volunteerism, such as fundraisers, working at school events, church activities, etc.  A one-day volunteer activity should not be considered, unless it is coupled with other events throughout the year.

• Leadership: The recipient(s) does not necessarily need to be an outspoken leader, but someone who tends to lead by example by being positive and supportive.

• Career Goals: The recipient(s) has clear goals and post-secondary plans.

• Perseverance: The recipient(s) has exhibited perseverance by overcoming a personal obstacle or circumstance. This will be known through an essay the student will write for this scholarship.
