VET stands for Vocational Education and Training. They are certificate courses (TAFE) that help prepare Year 10-12 students for various vocational careers.
They are also credited as VCE units.
Most VET courses are a two year sequence i.e. 1st and 2nd Year.
VET studies MUST be completed over a full year – that is both semesters. In this way it makes up two units.
VET studies may contribute to a VCE student’s ATAR. Some can be used as a “Best 4’ subject in your ATAR whilst others offer a 10% increment to your ATAR.
