Psychology is the study of behaviour. In Units 1 and 2, students explore the structure and functioning of the human brain and nervous system, how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are shaped, sensation and perception and attitudes, perceptions and relationships are influenced and transformed.
Students examine classic and contemporary theories, experiments and research that have contributed to our understanding, knowledge and ideas, and how we make sense of our world.

Unit 3 & 4 Psychology is one of my favourite subjects (from Miss Watson). The concepts studied here will directly relate to your lives now and in the future. We investigate what stress is and how our bodies react when we feel stressed. Then we look at how we can calm our bodies and our minds - Perfect timing to know all about this if you become a little overwhelmed with the thought of doing SAC’s and exams! We then look at how we learn information and then how can we best remember information - Again, these are useful to know for Year 12 and beyond. Later in the course we study the importance of sleep and directly relate this to why you need a good night’s sleep in Year 12 and we learn about the importance of looking after our mental health. This course also lines up well with those that are studying Allied Health, Health & Human Development and Biology.
