What a great note to finish the third year of racing at ZoMaxx Raceway! Thanks to everyone for all the fun.
As you can see Sam was still running high on his recent win at Fast Eddies and pulled off another win in the BRM race. Jeff was back in action finishing P3. At one point during pre-race testing BRM Bob announced that he was sick of his BRM. I wish I could remember who started the BRM class?
During Tech Inspection it was noticed a few cars had a narrow rear track width. While this is COMPLETELY legal, it might not be optimal...
In the Flexi race there was a battle of most Break Out Times. I lost count. I think John had maybe 5 or more. Jeff had a few, and I had 5 or 6. I'm not sure it effected the final out come, but it did leave us with some really close racing. There were 5 brave souls that chose to take the gloves off and have a street fight WITHOUT a Break Out. Notice the fast laps times! John found out how well a car can handle when the chassis can touch the track. Congrats John, I see new tires in your future.
Jeff moved up to P2! Dan and I fought it out for third. Bob blew out his toy controller. Bummer Bob, thank goodness for fuses. Does anyone see a box of fuses under his tree?. A Big thanks to Paul for martial-ing !!!
Thanks again to everyone for a fun year of racing and all your support. I look forward to next year!
12.03.2013 - It was known as the Hoedown before the Showdown. There was a lot of pre-race trash talk on the web and in the pits. But just like every dance, there were people crying in the bathroom.
Check the leader board and you will ALSO see that records were smashed. I'll let the numbers do the talking.
What else is there to say but we had some great close racing last night with another record; the entry count was 10 drivers!
A little smack down with some Flexi racing after the mains, check out the fast laps...just shows, you gotta stay in the slot to win.
Thanks to everyone that came out last night!
Stock Slot.it Race:
Modified Race:
11.19.2013 - If you missed last night you missed some close racing!!! Just look at the Truck race results.
Bob was the king over all. He was robbed of his first place finish in the Truck race when a nut job played games on the track call button. John finished P2 overall. Paul also pulled some rabbits out of his has with a good handling FCR finished P3. Congrats guys. Dan had a tuff time when the same nut job played dirty and would not let him pass in truck race.
Jeff was back in tune mode pulling off so stellar laps times! A big ZoMaxx welcome goes out to Jeff's friend Andy. He is another REAL slot car racer that is going to put the hurt on us all soon.
In the Slot.it race Team ZoMaxx had Bob running SCARED! Half way through the first heat he did not pull away. But finally the lead driver for ZoMaxx cracked and was kicked off the lane. This was also an all time top finish for Bob. He pushed the most laps ever in the Stock Slot.it class by two laps! Racer X strutted his stuff finishing P3 while running in the A Main. Dave rounded out the top 4 just ahead of returning from retirement racer, Jeff. I think the Gear Gate car was seen last night :D
11.06.2013 - Records were also smashed in the Modified race! Bob matched the most laps ever of 140 laps. Nice racing Bob! Bob, Sam and Jeff all set new fast lap times as well! Check the Leaderboard.ZoMaxx barely held his position in the A Main finishing just a few feet in front of the privateer from Page Racing. Sad to say, that puts Dave down to the kids table for Thanksgiving :(
After the race I saw the motor from the MOMO car in the rebuild shop. In an interview with the lead engineer I was told, after two years of racing, it's time to freshen the motor :D :D :D
10.29.2013
All hail King John!
Here ye here ye!
John won his first Flexi race!!!
He put his big boy pants on after his second place last race 9/10. Last race, he ran 173 laps. This race he put down a commanding 178 laps. He was up one lap in the first heat. Two laps after the second heat. During the third heat he was only up one. Team ZoMaxx was playing a dirty and put him into the wall twice. It was not enough though. In the last heat John just took off and hammered the laps away! Great racing John! Dave finished P3 with his old school car without any weight. Paul moves up to the A main by finishing P4, nice going Paul.
There was also an upset in the BRM race. Once again Dave was on top with his tweaked original BRM motor. Sam and John also finished on the the same lap.
10.15.2013 - We had some more good, close racing last night. Bob had a crushing win in the Hardbody race. New fast lap time and a new top lap count! He has knocked Jeff off the thrown. Nice racing Bob. But his victory was short lived in the Lexan race. The real race though is the count between BOTH races! Bob and Team ZoMaxx tie with the same amount of laps. So Dave that means you finish in 3rd. Scott is still upping his game by increasing his lap count by 9 laps in BOTH races. Everyone is right there the race really comes down to off's. For those that are attending the Dave Page School of Racing, you are moving up the ranks.
