Bob won:
All hail King Bob... What more is there to say?
I BIG Congrats go out to PAULY for his FIRST EVER Win last night!!! Pauly had to do it the hard way by winning the move up spot from the B Main to the A in the BRM race. He put a crushing 4 lap blow to Privateer Dave Page Racing who finished P2. Andy was right their in P3. Dan started in the A Main but after early first heat gremlins left him with a borrowed car that was just not fast enough. Bob still thinks he is king with an illegal motor that he claims is not any faster than anyone elses... You do the math...
In the Flexi race we ran brand new NASCAR Truck bodies WITHOUT a breakout time!!! They sure looked good before the race and not bad after too. But there was disturbance in the Force and Privateer Dave Page Racing took the win! Congrats Dave. I know someone that needs to go back the the Dave Page school of racing and have to have fewer off's! The headache award goes to Andy. He won the move up spot from the B main, but sadly his car did not pass inspection for the A Main. His tires where too small. He was given a brand new matched set from the ZoMaxx garage but his car did not like them. After two hits to the banked wall he want back to his illegal set to finish the race. Danger Bob sits P3 and Dan smoked a motor.
The best part of the night was having brother John back racing with us!!!
Congrats to Slot.it Bob for winning a Stock Slot.it race! He had to do it the hard way by winning the move up spot from the B main.
In the Modified race, Dave won the move up spot, but will be moving back down to the B main next race because Jeff finished with more laps in the B Main then Dave did in the A. Dave better find a sponsor with deep pockets.
Congrats to Andy for finishing on top! Both Andy and Dan fought it out in both races. Danger Bob had troubles and Team ZoMaxx burned up another motor in the Truck race.
This was a thunder down-under with real 1/24th scale cars! Bottom-line the races all came down to off's. If you can keep it on the track you just might win.
Other aspects of a race come down to running legal cars...
In the end, fun was had by all. Dave was the top dog in the BRM race and Jeff, Dave and Butch had a real shoot-out in the Flexi race with FIVE minute heats!
Some cool things are in store for our 4th Year - 4 Hour Enduro race so we were in training mode.
Stay tuned for more details.
It was good to shake the dust off last night! Thanks for the fun racing. I think the highlight was the motor fire in the NASCAR race! What could be more funny then smoke billowing out from under and thru a car? I do mean Billowing! That light burned really bright for 3.8 minutes with a new fast lap time record of 4.780!
In the end though Jeff is the new FCR SmackDOWN King, followed by Andy and Butch was there to round out the podium. Congratulations boyz.
In the NASCAR race:
Privateer Dave wins a possible move up spot the the A Main next time by finishing with more laps in the B Main then Bob did in the A Main. That also pushes Bob to the B Main next time. A DNF also keeps ZoMaxx in the B Main. Dan was a solid 6th place racer with his new tires. No worries that car will get better as the tires wear down.
In the Truck race:
203 laps is a new record pushing Bob out the the record books by 2 laps. A 4.500 fast lap time is also a record pushing Jeff out of the top spot. The close race was for second between Jeff and Butch finishing just 5' apart.
Real slot cars were out last night with the Big BRM's and the high speed of Flexi's!
In the BRM race Dave won the move up spot from the B main to the A main. He pulled off a two-fer and won the A main as well. Big congrats to Dave for winning the hard way. Danger Bob gave him a run for his money with is toy car motor, but the win still goes to Dave because he passed tech. Andy had the fast lap time of the race, and finished P2! Brother Dan was right there in P3. Scott moved up a few places too.
In the Flexi race Jeff was King! Running a 3.788 best lap time with his slow in the straight but fast in the corners car. Congrats to Jeff. ZoMaxx started in the B main because of his dismal DNF last race. He won the move up spot but 9 break out laps in the A main were his downfall. That opens the door for Big Dave to finish P2 over all! Nice going Dave. Brother Dan had his share of breakouts as well. Andy struggled with a slower ill handling car and Scott had his share of old body issues. Danger Bob blew a motor and two fuses in his controller which award him a DNF.
In the Stock Slot.it race Bob won the move up spot from the B main to the A. Sorry that was not enough "heat" to win in the big boy race. Andy was right there in P2 with Dave in P3.
Pat used the ZoMaxx Stock Slot.it in the Modified race to win the move up sport from the B main to the A! He put the pressure on both Bob and ZoMaxx! Pat was ahead for 3 heats but all three racers finished on the same lap! The scorekeeper is NOT sure how that happened BUT let's just stick to the facts. Also Pat drive the ZoMaxx car for 2 More laps than Team ZoMaxx head driver ran in the Stock race. Nice driving Pat! That car just might be for sale now Pat
Dan did not have a good day. His Modified car goes back the shop for a little more work. Sorry Dave!
A big welcome to our new racers Mark! Thanks the Dave for bringing a new racer. Mark will be a powerhouse in no short order!
Dan was King last night and Danger Jet Flyer Bob was his... =))
Both Andy and Scott are moving up!
ZoMaxx zapped a fuse in his old school controller but thought it was a blown motor and switched cars in the HardBody race. But he did get into Bob's head one heat and maybe cost him the race. Oops... ZoMaxx crushed the Truck race. We know what chassis he will run next time!
There was an upset in the HardBody A Main. Both Dave and ZoMaxx lost their spots and they move down to the B Main next race. Bob was on a mission and beat Jeff by 10 laps! Andy and Dan had great races and traded the lead many times. They tie for the finish, so P5 goes to Andy for fast lap times in both races. Andy And ZoMaxx tied in the truck race.
If you like data you will like the Flexi results:
Jeff brought a whole new meaning to;
Thanks to Jeff for the great lunch and thanks for the spanking!
The day started out looking good during qualifying for ZoMaxx. It would not last long though. After the second heat he was moving back, and moving back fast. Jeff was on a terror lapping the field many times each heat. Everyone had to run the lanes three times, for 11.43 minute heats. During the early rounds the race for 3rd heated up between John, Pat and Andy. Around mid race John started putting on the pressure on ZoMaxx for second. ZoMaxx was running scared from John and put his head down and kept the car in the lane. John put on good show with a BLT on Green but it was a little too late. John finished just 5 laps back in P3. Congrats to John for a podium finish. John was also the king in consistency. Pat was the dark horse in the race running and old school Porsche and was getting faster and faster each heat. That put Pat in P4 in the race and P2 on the consistency scale. Andy was fast but the race came down to off's, and he got caught up in just a few to many wrecks. Bob ran an in-line, new orange end-bell but it did not have enough torque over the yellow cans. Once his new motor broke in though, it was fast. A broken guide flag put him out of the race for about 8 minutes. Scott and Brian teamed up and Brian was crushing the fast laps and got better and better each heat. Pat was happy to see that post race the ZoMaxx car was cured its measles. Three cars all looking the same for 4 hours was not to be had for ZoMaxx.
Thanks to everyone for a fun day!
Nearly full house last night! A lot of close racing.
Thanks to every one that came out last night.
Here is the Stock Slot.it finish.
Another disturbance in the Force last night!
Congratulations to RacerX for a big Win!!! He was the big time winner with his new controller, finishing 2 laps ahead of Jeff! Andy crushed with fast lap times in the Truck race but just needed a few more laps with his hardbody. Bob was crushing it as well but both him and ZoMaxx just had a few too many off's to stay in the lead. Reservations have been made at the DavePage skool of Slot Car Racing for them. Dan and John battled for P5 but John squeaks out with just one more lap.
There was time left for a throw down Toy Car, run what you brung race. Dan and Bob raced Modified cars on the slow poke post. Everyone else ran stock Slot.it's.
It was EPIC. Dr. Bob Slot Car Racer Extraordinaire, We're Not Worthy!
Bob was king last night. Winning BOTH races. Bob moved up from the B-Main in The BRM and Flexi race to take BOTH A-Main wins. I think we can call Bob the true winner of the night.
The BRM race was a 30 lap heat race. Bob finished the B-Main with 118 laps beating Andy with 116 laps. In the A-Main 118 was just enough to take the win over ZoMaxx.
The Flexi race was a 45 lap heat race. Both Bob and Dave won move up spots from the B-Main.
In the B-Main Dave had a huge win with 179 laps. Bob had 177 laps.
In the A-Main Bob put down 176 laps finishing ahead of Jeff on the same lap. TeamZoMaxx lead driver had just 40 laps in the first heat and got caught many wrecks. ZoMaxx also had 2 breakouts during the race and finished 2 laps down from the leaders. Dave chose a back-up car for the A-Main race but it was not enough. Dave finished P4 the with 171 laps.
I think last night was a Battle Royal! A lot of tight racing.
In the Slot.it race Jeff won the move up spot from the B Main to the A Main with 139 laps. But he could not back up that finish in the A Main. He finished second in the A Heat with 136 laps. BUT John finished with 137 laps in the B Main. So does this mean John gets the second place overall finish? This does make me question how to stack up the laps between the A and B main. Any suggestions are welcome. Jeff and John's finish do move them up to the A Main next race though.
The racing got even closer in the Modified race. This time John won the move up spot from the B Main. John backed up that finish and pounded even more laps with a record breaking 142. With a 36 lap heat race, that's just 2 laps short of a perfect 144 lap race. Nice going John. In the last few seconds of the race, Racer-X sideswiped the ZoMaxx car which put Bob FIVE feet ahead to finish P2. Notice 3 cars finished on the same lap with Jeff did in the B Main.
Thanks to all for a good night of racing.
We tried something different for 2014! Lap Racing. You have a set number of laps per heat. Each heat ends when the first person achieves that lap count. Then and everyone changes lanes as normal. The race continues until someone reaches that same maximum lap count. As usual all the laps for each heat are added to determine the winner. It adds a new twits to racing. I plan to try this same format for the next few races. everyone seemed to have fun and will see how it goes.
Congrats to Dan, he won the truck race!!!
We had more time so we did a Slot.it race. On the Leaderboard Slot.it Bob bested his fast lap time, BUT sadly Team ZoMaxx head driver also bested his fast lap time. Slot.it Bob still gets the win. Congrats to Bob!!!
Thanks for all the fun today!
Thanks for all your support of the past three years!
I'm looking forward to a new year of racing.
Here are all the numbers from today.
