Well Sam can finally rest, the MOMO car has been defeated and he finished in front of Team ZoMaxx in BOTH races last night. Are you happy now Sam?
In the Slot.it race, Bob remains king of the hill with BOTH the fast lap time AND the most laps by two over Dave. Dave might be back to the motor shop to re-wind his arm, tru the com and zap the magnets, so you best look out Bob. Sam was just one lap back from Dave but sill on the podium. Both Dan and I fought it out for 4th place. My new car just does not handle like an NSR, so its back to the chassis shop for that one. Zoe started the the race in the TicTac but had to switch to a backup when it failed. last but not least Scott laid down 13 more laps from his last crack at this class. Nice running Scott.
In the Modified race, Sam was the unknowing king. When it was announced that he won, he did not know it... He seems to race so much better when he thinks he is out of it. Three cars were tied for 2nd place! That's a new one!!! Team ZoMaxx had some driver changes, Zoe ran the MOMO, and I dusted off the Gulf. I finished 25 feet behind Sam who just entered the donut. Zoe was just around the corner and Dave had just crossed the lap counter. Bob was working the bugs out of his car and finished P5. Dan was stressing about the big flow to come, and Scott put down 11 more laps over his last modified race. Nice improvement Scott.
Sorry the BRM race was such a crash fest! I feel bad that I forgot to turn the power down!!! Please feel free to ask in the future.
I think the big upset in the BRM race is Paul finishing 3rd but 1st in the consistency race! Dan had some of the best crashing of the night. First in practice when he flew off in turn 1 and ended up near the tunnel. The second crash earned him all 9's from the judges with a mid air fancy pirouette. Scott is stepping it up putting down 4 more laps with his FCR and 0.2 faster.
John is racking up the second place finishes. This week in the Flexi class and last race in the truck class. Jeff did some re-gearing and had only one break-out. But we are sad to say he has to work Tues nights for the next two months. We will miss you Jeff. Dave in p4 will be going back to the motor shop OR maybe the chassis shop for a better handling car.
We had some real close racing last night! Jeff was the king, and now John is his bitch by finishing P2. I guess that makes me the joker... :D Pat and Sam fought it out with Pat one lap up on Sam. Pat had a little help in the truck race because he was running the Team ZoMaxx back-up car. After looking at the in car telemetry I think the back-up will now be the main car! Pat put down a faster lap time then I did with the main car. Scott and his son Brian shared a Brand New, fully blueprinted FCR. Note Brian's fast lap time in the Truck race and you can see he's right there! Brian did give dad a good spanking over all. Maxx also made an appearance for the hard-body race but had to take refuge and get some homework done during the truck race. It was a little quiet around the track without the comic relief of Dave picking on Bob, and poor Dan was at some crazy wedding tasting deal, OUCH! And poor Paul was stuck in some business meeting... You guys were missed!
We went Old School last night with the toy cars and Slot.it Bob was on top! Congrats Bob The race for second was hard fought between Sam and Jeff. Jeff finished P2 and Sam in P3. Drag racer Dave ran in the A Main but finished 5th over all. John had trouble in the B Main and Brian beat his father while piloting Sam's car. Nice racing Brian!
In the Flexi race the break-out beeper was ringing like a door bell for Jeff and Sam. Sam and Jeff might need to look at their gear ratio :D Scott earned some respect and beat his son Brian by one lap. Be careful Brown family, you might just get hooked on real slot car racing :D
If you missed last night you missed one of the best races yet!
Sam brought a really nice die cast NASCAR for a race prize. We switched things up and raced the Toy cars first. After the first heat Jeff was one lap up on Racer X and myself. After the second heat Jeff was two laps up and Sam and I were still on the same lap. After a crash in the 3rd heat Jeff was only one lap up. Another crash in the 4th heat put us all back on the same lap. As Jeff was going into the doughnut and I was going out. Then Jeff was on my tail and Sam was right there too. Late in the 4th heat Jeff had an off that took Sam with him. That gave me a half lap lead! John had his best race ever but still finished in 4th but only two laps back. Nice race John! We had a new racer in the house Scott's son. A big congrats goes out to Brian on his first race on the ZoMaxx. We hope to see you again.
In the BRM race, Jeff was redeemed himself and finished 4 laps up! Nice going Jeff.
Summer is here but we are back on track now for racing! We did some real slot car racing last night and ran 8 heat races rather then our usual 4 heat races!
In the BRM race:
Jeff came out of the box fighting. He was running his new Hawk 6 motor in his BRM and his lap time were dropping as the real slot car racing continued. The final crushing blow was in his final lane when he put down a 4.999! The package for the motor does have a break in schedule and I guess it really matters. If he had a better power supply he would have really killed us all. Dave finished P3 with his old blue can motor and Sam and Dan fought for last place.
In the Flexi race:
Dan finished P2 and this time. Sam was battling Jeff for P3. Jeff's first car had gear trouble and he went down many laps in the first heat. He used a Team ZoMaxx car usually piloted by Maxx the Axx. We will give Jeff the third place finish because he fought back so many laps. He could have fixed his car but the race shop did not have the right gears for him. I think Sam had one break-out lap and RacinRoss had two. Dave was racing an old Team ZoMaxx give-away car but was experiencing motor trouble Does anyone know a good motor builder for Dave? As you can see fast lap times are all right there, so everyone has a car that can win.
