"The Rod from the Stem of Jesse"
" And there shall come forth a rod (Mulekite - legal claim to the throne of David/Israel = David, the Prince) out of the stem of Jesse (Jesus Christ - see DyC 113:1–2), and a branch shall grow out of his (Jesus? David?) roots.
2x different beings being talked about...
And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him (David), the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord (Jesus);
And shall make him (David) of quick understanding in the fear of Lord (Jesus);
and he (David) shall not judge after the sight of his (David) eyes,
neither reprove after the hearing of his (David) ears.
But with righteousness (Priest from the tribe of Manasseh) shall he (David, King of Judah) judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth; and he (The Lord) shall smite the earth with the rod (David, the Prince) of his (?) mouth, and with the breath of his (The Lord) lips shall he (?) slay the wicked."

and constitute her people a distinct nation and government,
