And, why do we care...?

Because "David, the prince” [Mulekite] is a KING, heir to the throne of Israel. He may/maynot be a priest, depending on his bloodline. As kind, or even an Aaronic priesthood holder, David will be allowed to provide animals for sacrifice, but he may not be able to perform ordinances that require a High Priest (Ezek. 45:11-19). If he can not, to restore the full covenant with Jehovah, this "King" (Melek) must therefore, find a High "Priest" (Zadok) who has legal claim to the Priesthood by lineage to restore the covenant that was broken by the House of Israel in the wilderness, by completing the 8x days of sacrifice for a SIN offering as described in Ezekiel 45:2, 4, 12; 45:22).
