Hutchins Dorset

The History and Antiquities of Dorset by John Hutchins (1633-1773) . Hutchins started to gather information in the 1730's but the book was still not finished at the time of his death in Wareham in 1773. Richard Gough and William Cuming finally published the 1st edition in 1774 in two folio volumes. A 2nd edition was published between 1813- 1815 in 4 volumes. The final 3rd edition was published between 1861-1870 again in 4 volumes.
