The Old Pound

The former animal pound at the west end of the village. Local builder, Arthur Westlake has cleverly managed to construct his garage within the retained pound walls and named his house Pound Cottage.

The Creek :

A small area on the roadside of the mill pond just off Mill Lane adjacent to the church. The small footbridge noted under (the river and it's bridges) led via a footpath (still actually a public footpath !) to a three arched bridge on the south side of the mill pond. The creek was a local name for this area where the mill pond returned the water to the river. Today, unfortunately, this area is completely overgrown with unsightly modern garages further hiding the area. See Rivers
