Mole Hall Farm

Mole Hall Farm

I would like to give special thanks to Julie and Stuart Thorpe, for sending us these wonderful family photographs and postcards of Mole Hall.
Stuart's grandparents Nicky and Alice Bone lived there and his mother Audrey and her sister Thornton were brought up there before moving sometime in the 1940’s.

Late C16 timber-framed and plastered house on an L shaped plan entirely enclosed by a water filled moat. There are modern additions at the rear and various alterations. Two storeys and attics. The north-west front has a 2 storeyed former porch with a jettied upper storey. The front has bar and transom windows of 2 and 3 lights and one large 12 light mullioned and transomed window. There is an original door on the south-west side. Roof tiled, with 2 original chimney stacks. One with 2 square shafts set diagonally and the other with 2 hexagonal shafts. The interior has an original open fireplace.

Mole Hall, dates from the C16 but there was a house on the site around 1287.

These two old village postcards were with the Mole Hall, photos so i thought as they have all been together for so many years they should remain and be displayed together.
