Discuss the symptoms, possible related outcomes, and treatments of the major STIs
For this section of the course, everyone will need to know information on the following sexual Transmitted Infections (STIs) (many also call these STD or sexually transmitted diseases):
Chlamydia
Gonorrhea
Syphilis
Human papillomavirus (HPV)
Herpes simplex virus (HSV)
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
Hepatitis B
For each of these, you should know if it is a bacteria or viral infection. What are the symptoms of the each of them (if any)? Can What are the treatments for each of them and/or can they be cured? If the bacterial STIs go untreated, what can happen in your body?

Even if you have not had sex yet, or don't plan on doing so until you are married, you still need to educate yourself. Your future partner may have had one or more exposures to an STI. And you should also realize that several of the STIs listed above can be spread when there is no sexual contact (ex: HSV-1).
