Health-Related Components of Fitness

When talking about becoming more Physically Fit, one could be talking about Health-related OR Skill-related components of fitness. Both have value to individuals. Health-related components help to reduce chances of chronic diseases, improve the quality of life, and even provide a basis for athletes to improve in their respective sports. Skill-related components are mainly for those individuals who like to compete and want to improve physical performance, but they can also add to quality of life for those who do not compete.

In this WELLNESS class we will be focusing on the Health-related components of fitness. Please keep in mind that a few of the skill-related components, such as coordination and balance, are very useful to improve if you want a higher quality of life as you age.
