“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.”

From tens of thousands of photos, I have selected just a few that will give you a sense of the many places I have worked in and visited. I do not consider myself a writer, so please accept my words as I share some of my thoughts and experiences from my travels around the globe.
What an experience it has been so far! As I reflect on my travels, I consider how fortunate I have been to visit so many places. Each place holds memories of a once-in-a-lifetime experience I have had there. I hope to return to many of them again soon.
When reflecting on those experiences, many stand out; riding a camel in the Sahara, feeding a baby panda in China, spending a night in a troglodyte cave-dwelling in Tunisia, climbing the Great Wall, visiting the top of the world near Mt Everest, witnessing the great migration in the Mara and Serengeti, whew... and there are so many more!
I can still vividly remember; visiting a Masai warrior's home, seeing snow-covered Mt. Kilimanjaro through the mist, hearing the howl of wild wolves during a spooky moonlit night in Transylvania, exotic and spicy foods in Ethiopia and Cambodia, bartering for antique carpet in Armenia, entering a Mayan pyramid in Mexico, marveling at Machu Picchu and Angkor Wat, climbing the Giant Buddha near Hong Kong, wading at the source of the Nile in Uganda, gazing at Mt. Ararat and wondering about the Ark, kayaking through a mangrove swamp at night and experiencing the brilliant magic of the bio-luminescent bay in Puerto Rico, tracking wolves in Wyoming, and, bears in Montana, being at arm's length of whales in Canada, and finally, the opportunity to photograph the peoples of the world are just a handful of my fondest memories and adventures.
I hope that you enjoy the site, and I look forward to any comments you may have.

FYI: I have been asked numerous times, by numerous people, “ Why the title, SPY’S EYES? ”
My surname “Spione” can be translated to “espionage” or “big spy” in many languages around the world, including Russian, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Dutch, and more, hence my photographer’s nom de plume, Spys’sEyes.
Yes, because of the name, I have been subjected to numerous looks and extensive questioning related to my name from a host of immigration and customs agents around the world as they have checked my passports while I have waited to enter their countries.
