Thank you for your interest in our study. The study in which you are about to participate pertains to impressions of speech and voice. It is conducted by Akira Utsugi of the Graduate School of Humanities at Nagoya University, both independently and in collaboration with other researchers and students.
In this study, you are going to listen to the speech/voices presented in the survey system and respond to the questions. You may also be asked to complete a supplementary questionnaire regarding your background as a participant. The session, including preparation, is expected to take approximately 15 minutes.
The findings of this study will contribute to our understanding of the utilization of speech and voices in society, the variations present, and their changes over time.
This study poses no risks. For questions regarding the participant’s background, you may select the option, “I do not wish to answer.” The data collected in this study will be strictly managed. Please note that the company used to recruit participants (hereinafter, “the survey company”) will not provide the researchers with any information that could identify the participants. Although the study findings may be presented at academic conferences or published as scholarly articles, individual names or identifying information related to the individuals will not be disclosed in these publications.
Participation in the study is entirely voluntary, and opting not to participate will not result in any disadvantages or affect any future relationships with the researchers or Nagoya University. You may terminate participation at any point, even after it has commenced. You may also withdraw consent at any time after the completion of the study by submitting a written statement. Under no circumstances shall you incur any disadvantage should the study be discontinued or if consent is withdrawn at your request for any reason. However, if the survey company had its own policy regarding remuneration payments upon study cancellation, the policy will supersede the terms stated above.
If you decide to participate in this study, you will receive the remuneration specified at the time of recruitment. However, no compensation will be provided if the study is discontinued prematurely due to personal circumstances. In the event that you are unable to complete the responses due to technical issues and can furnish supporting documentation (such as a photograph or screenshot of the survey interface), you will receive the same remuneration as if the responses were successfully submitted.
