Do you know how to prepare a strike?
The workers right to strike is a constitutional right, BUT, there are some limits; striking for political reason or personal reason isn’t legal.
Prior to a strike there have to be negations ending with no agreement. After the failed negotiations you call a meeting with the workers, they have to vote, if there isn’t majority in favour you don’t call a strike. Once you have the majority you have to contact the authorities to call the strike, and there have to be a notice period of at least 5 days. During these days a mediation will take place. If the mediation ends with an agreement the strike will be cancelled, if no agreement the strike will take place.
Here in UGT we can help you with all these processes, we know how to do this correctly, we can follow you true all of this. And even better, if it is being done correctly, we can do all the work, so you don’t have to worry about procedures.
