MWTA 2025 is a part of an important mobility scheme between Italy and South Africa ISARP 2023-2025 which has been promoted by

National Research Foundation of South Africa (NRF)

and

Ministero deli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale of Italy (MAECI)

in order to increase the scientific collaboration  between Italy and South Africa.

The Italian Embassy in South Africa promotes several forms of interaction at different levels and in different fields. Its network of experts is present  since long time in South Africa and has a long tradition of cooperation, which can be found here.

In particular, the Italian scientific diplomacy has recently developed the new web-platform Innovitalia with the scope of coordinate and support the Italian research abroad (not only between South Africa and Italy but between various countries with a significant interest in Italian partnerships). Along with this,  there are periodic moments of discussion on topics of science, where MAECI is directly involved.

The creation of local unities of academics has been made in 2015 in the Western Cape (the so called Network of Italian Researchers of the western Cape -- NIRC ) and counts the Italian researchers working in the area of Cape Town. The NIRC, along with the Italian Consulate of Cape Town and the Scientific Attache' in Pretoria,  support periodic cultural initiatives at various levels and in different fields.

This event will be the opportunity to members of the Scientific Attache', of the Italian Consulate and of the Italian Embassy, who promoted collaborations between South Africa and Italy during the last years.
