We have begun reading the book "Who is Gandhi?" to go long with our influential people unit of study for Social Studies and Reading.

The following words below you will take a short quiz on Thursday, January 19^th. Each week you will have new words to go along with the book we are reading. Remember to study EVERY night for homework. Good luck! J

1. journey – noun- traveling from one place to another, usually taking a rather long time; trip.

2. Mahatma- noun- (especially in India) a person who is held in the highest esteem for wisdom and saintliness.

3. fast(ing)- verb- to abstain from all food. (stop)

4. embrace- verb-to take or receive gladly or eagerly; accept willingly: to embrace an idea.

5. esteem- verb- to regard highly or favorably; regard with respect or admiration.
