Performance Assessment Project Due

Thursday, January 18th.

(The due date may change if students need more time.)

The project guidelines are below. You are NOT working on this at home but you will need to have a conversation with mom and dad about the materials you will need.

You have just moved into your new house at the bottom of a hill, and you receive an alert that you are in a flood zone! This means that when it rains, water will flow down the hill into your backyard-maybe even into your house! You have to come up with a design to keep your house safe from flooding, as well as an emergency action plan to ensure you, your family, and your pets can be safe in the event of a flood-related emergency.

Your child will begin this week and next week creating a plan for the project. The plan is due on Tuesday, December 12th.

Then over holiday your child will collect the materials they will use for the project. Students CANNOT use hot glue guns at school. They will work on the project in class NOT at home. Below is a list of ideas that can help you get started on your thinking regarding what materials you will use.
