Tree

In visiting our facility, you are no doubt struck immediately by the exterior architectural design. It is a parable in stone, steel, and wood. Christ talked about the mustard seed being the smallest of all seeds that grows into a mighty tree (Matthew 13:31-32). Other biblical imagery suggests a small acorn that becomes a mighty oak (Isaiah 61:3). This symbolism is especially important to our parish since our facility is nestled amongst trees.

Our building grows out of the ground, a tree springing up from the humble beginnings of 1963 (the founding year of our parish) to form a structure representing our community of faith. Each of the pillars that surround the building are the roots reaching into the rich soil of faith, so that the overall structure can have strength and stability through its central focal point - Christ - where all the beams are united into one compression ring.

The tent-like structure of the roof is topped by a tower which forms the trunk of the symbolic tree reaching toward the sun (the sun is an ancient symbol of Christ, the Son of God). Our tower reaches to a height of 145 feet. The cross itself is 30 feet.
