Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service): Amazon S3 is an object storage service that offers highly scalable and durable storage for various types of data. It is designed for storing and retrieving large amounts of data, including images, videos, documents, backups, and log files. S3 provides high availability, security features, and options for data lifecycle management.
Amazon EBS (Elastic Block Store): Amazon EBS provides block-level storage volumes for use with Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances. It offers persistent and low-latency block storage that can be attached to EC2 instances, allowing them to store data. EBS volumes are suited for database storage, transactional workloads, and applications that require low-latency access to data.
Amazon EFS (Elastic File System): Amazon EFS offers fully managed, scalable, and shared file storage for EC2 instances. It provides a simple and scalable file system that can be accessed concurrently from multiple EC2 instances. EFS is suitable for use cases such as content management systems, web serving, and data sharing across multiple instances.
Amazon FSx: Amazon FSx provides fully managed file systems optimized for specific workloads. It includes Amazon FSx for Windows File Server, which offers Windows-compatible file storage, and Amazon FSx for Lustre, which provides high-performance file storage for compute-intensive workloads like high-performance computing (HPC) and big data processing.
Amazon RDS (Relational Database Service): Amazon RDS is a managed database service that supports various relational database engines, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. It handles routine database tasks such as patching, backups, and high availability, allowing users to focus on application development rather than database management.
Amazon DynamoDB: Amazon DynamoDB is a fully managed NoSQL database service that offers fast and flexible document and key-value store capabilities. It provides seamless scalability, high performance, and automatic data replication across multiple Availability Zones. DynamoDB is well-suited for applications that require low-latency access to large amounts of structured or semi-structured data.
Amazon S3 Glacier: Amazon S3 Glacier is a low-cost storage service designed for long-term data archiving and backup. It offers secure, durable, and scalable storage for data that is infrequently accessed. Glacier provides multiple retrieval options with varying retrieval times, making it suitable for archival and compliance use cases.
These are just a few examples of the storage options provided by AWS. Depending on specific requirements, AWS offers additional services such as Amazon Elastic File System (EFS) Infrequent Access, Amazon S3 Intelligent-Tiering, Amazon EBS Cold HDD (Hard Disk Drive), and more. Each storage service has its own pricing model, performance characteristics, and features, allowing users to choose the most suitable option for their workload.

Use Amazon S3 to Store a Single Amazon Elasticsearch Service Index
One of the common DR strategies for on-premise data centers is to use AWS Storage Gateway. This allows to connect on-premises storages to AWS S3 and Glacier so that the data will be available in AWS for fail over.
