February 24-26, 2023
Friday: Meet at Camp Manatoc Administration Building on Friday at 6:00 pm. Eat dinner before arriving at Camp. Those who either do not have the proper winter gear or who do not wish to attempt the Polar Bear Award will stay in the Small Concord Lodge, which is heated by wood stove/fireplace.
Saturday: During the day the Troop will hike and knock out any hiking/orienteering requirements that scouts may need. The PLC will organize other activities as appropriate for the expected weather. Scouts attempting to acquire the Polar Bear award must be prepared to spend 24 hours in weather below 32 deg F. As such Scouts are required to wear appropriate clothing as needed (winter boots, wool socks, gloves/mittens, wool or fleece hat/balaclava, long johns) to stay warm and dry regardless of the weather. Scouts should also have an extra set of dry clothing available as well as dry sleeping clothes.
Saturday: A text with pick-up time (Likely 8:30 – 9:30 AM) from Camp Manatoc will be sent to parents Friday evening after check-in.
Please complete the permission slip and return along with payment by February 14th.
