Donor Hmong-Mien

Donor Hmong-Mien was first proposed as "Donor Miao-Yao" by Benedict (1987).

Proto-Hmong-Mien *dzjuŋH 'seven' is shared by Bodish, Idu-Taraon, Miju, and Meyor. This does not mean that Donor Hmong-Mien should classify with these branches, but rather suggests that it was part of a more extensive ancient Eastern Sino-Tibetan linkage that has subsequently been leveled by the expansions of Burmo-Qiangic and Sinitic.
