Sal

As Matisoff (2013) pointed out, Sal is a linkage rather than a truly coherent branch that is reconstructable. Its homeland is likely in the northern reaches of the Chindwin River in northwestern Myanmar, just to the east of where Konyak languages are now spoken today.
