INTA Study Abroad Programs

The Nunn School encourages students to participate in at least one study abroad experience while completing the degree program. The School sponsors summer programs focusing on:

The Nunn School also sponsors a graduate-level exchange program which selects one student each year to study for a spring semester at the School of International and Area Studies (SIAS) of Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea.

 Additionally, the School of Modern Languages and the Office of International Education offer study abroad programs in more than fifteen countries.

 Students are encouraged to read the Study Abroad Application Instructions carefully and attend Study Abroad information sessions, organized by the Office of International Education, to learn more about study abroad programs and requirements. Date, times, and locations of Study Abroad information sessions are listed on the events page of the OIE website.

 

Argentina Program

This INTA study abroad program focuses on democratization, privatization, and regional economic integration in Buenos Aires and Argentina and is led by Dr. Kirk Bowman.

European Union Program

This INTA study abroad program focuses on European economic integration and security institutions in Brussels, Belgium. This program is led by Dr. Vicki Birchfield.

Japan Summer Program in Sustainable Development

This ten-week summer program led by Dr. Brian Woodall is home based at Kobe University, Japan’s premier technological university. The aim of this program is to equip students with the tools to understand the broad issues of sustainable development and the particular challenges confronting large cities as well as rural towns through field trips, lectures, and multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural problem-based service learning.

Southeast Asia Program

This INTA study abroad program explores nontraditional security challenges (piracy, terrorism, illegal trafficking, infectious disease, etc.) across four Southeast Asian states: Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar (Burma), and Cambodia.

Valencia Program

The Valencia Program offers two tracks of study. All students will take a course on the history, culture, soccer, and politics of Spain, and will choose a second course on either Mediterranean Ecology (Biology credit) or the Political Economy of Development (Cross-listed International Affairs and Management).
