I have been reading through the Archdeacon Transcripts for the Parish of Lyminge in Kent UK.
and I saw a marriage dated 6th October 1640 between Thomas Castle and Rubidge Kennet.
I confess I had never seen Rubidge either as a surname or first name before, and it is most unusual, so I googled it to see whether it appeared in any or many other Kentish records and found your website.
What is especially interesting is that in this case it is a 1st name of a woman. I would hazard a guess that perhaps she was named after her mother's family name or her paternal grandmother's name. But perhaps not.
The writing on the original document is crystal clear, there is no chance i read it wrongly.
