ASSIGNMENT: Students will reflect on what love means to them and come up with 3 different thumbnail sketches. The message must be a positive one for the larger community as these will hang in the commons area during valentines week. Students will create a design that wraps around all sides of the heart. There are 2 examples up at the front of the room under the video screen. Do not use type except on the lower heart message that will hang below. Watch Origami history. Once the heart is 1) cut out, 2) scored, this means lines are embossed on the dotted lines to allow exact folding, and 3) painted on the blank side of the heart, there is a video below that shows how to assemble the heart once it is painted - not before!!!
