Step one is to find a short inspirational quote.
Download the typefaces and other elements I have made available to you in Teams.
Set the type into a simple format as seen on the right. I used the typeface Smoothy Sans. Smoothy sans is a good all around typeface that I recommend you start with.
Download the other elements I have given you in your Teams File as well. To create the background on the image to the right I used a pattern from Majestic Art Deco that is in your Teams file. It has over 60 patterns. You can also try art Nouveau or draw your own. To create the border, I used the Zentangle brushes that are in the Teams folder along with instructions on how to load them into Illustrator. I drew a rectangle and chose a brush. I layered 2 brush styles together and then after I was sure it was the right size, I simply dragged and dropped the frames from Illustrator into Photoshop.
You must have a frame that sits .5 inches on the inside edge of your page layout. Your page must be 8.5 by 11 inches. The outer .5 inch must be white so that when we print the book pages, they will all be the right size and format.
You will have a black and white version and then duplicate it and create a color version.
Both versions will be due on Monday May 17th.
The top Black and White example is from the Majestic Art Deco Collection on Teams and below is done from the Art Nouveau collection on Teams.
The one on the left was created using the Art Nouveau Collection on Teams and I colored it using blue velvet, purple velvet petunias and a leaf. The gold is from the Geometric logo collection on teams. Below was also from the Art nouveau collection and I used the Gold pattern from Geometric Logo Designs on Teams. The type is Ginchiest on Teams.
