Keefe Knitting Specialty Stitches
Always wonder what the linen, herringbone, and indian-cross stitches were? How about that fancy brioche or smocking? Come learn these stitches and more! We will learn and practice these stitches, then make one (or more projects) incorporating your favorite new specialty stitch. For the first class bring US 8 or similarly-sized needles and some worsted-weight yarn to practice techniques (if you have larger needles such as US 13 or 15 bring those as well). We will discuss project supplies then.
Below are some options for patterns, but there are plenty of other patterns available using these stitches if you want to search for your own. You are welcome to make as many projects as you wish.
A sampling of some of the techniques you will learn:
The Madelinetosh Honey Cowl by Antonia Shankland (This is a slightly different stitch than true linen but similar and still very pretty).
Big Herringbone Cowl by Purl Soho
