Keefe Socks Knit Your Way
Keefe Tech - September 27 - November 1, 2017.
Knitting Socks with circulars allows you to knit and finish two socks at once. Avoiding having to keep track of how many rows you've knit on one sock, worrying if one will be bigger than the other or if you will have enough yarn to knit both.
Learn to knit socks from the toe up two-at-once or one-at-a–time using two circulars. Working toe-up allows you to try on your socks as you knit, and never worry about running out of yarn.
Alternatively, try knitting socks top-down on circulars. While some sock patterns are easily adaptable to toe-up, some like Cookie A's lovely socks aren't easily adaptable. If toe-up is all you know here is your chance to try it going the other way. You can still try on as you go, and you'll get to learn the Kitchner stitch if you don't know it.
Want to try both? Knit a couple small ornamental socks doing it both ways!
More experienced knitters try to knit on the bias, with short-rows, or with some other unusual technique. Ideas will be listed on the website by September.
Please bring some scrap sock yarn and two circular needles of the same US size (size US1-US3 will work) and any length 16-32" to the first class. Options for individual projects will be discussed in class.
To take this class you should be comfortable knitting in the round.
