Keefe Knitting Lace
Keefe Tech from 6:30-9. Wednesdays, March 5 - April 9, 2025.
Learn lace knitting or work on some knitted lace! Students new to lace knitting will learn stitches commonly used in lace knitting, how to do lace cast-ons and bind-offs, how to read a chart, how to use a life-line, how to block your lace, and more. We will also walk you through your first lace project. More experienced lace knitters have the option to learn additional cast-ons such as a cast-on for triangular shawls, how to work with very thin yarn on larger needles, and knit lace (where there are no solid purl rows between lace rows.)
Below is a list of possible projects, or you can find one of your own. For the first class we will be practicing different stitches so bring some worsted weight yarn and appropriate needles for the yarn.

Don't feel you need to limit yourself to scarves or shawls. You can knit lace anything: hats, socks, mittens, etc. However, you must know how to knit whatever you are working on. We'll help with the lace, but time limits won't allow us to teach you how to knit a mitten, sock, or anything else with special construction (aside from a shawl :-). If you are knitting something you are experienced knitting and get stuck or make a mistake, we will be happy to help you fix it.
