9. Any Other Business
i) Future Gigs
Pluckers Party is on Friday 17th October. There is a pay bar, but no food. Partners are welcome. Martin Mason said that we need more people for daytime gigs. We should check that there are no other gigs on the calendar for that day/time before accepting them.
ii) Calendar Sitrep
The calendar was Janet’s baby. She has passed all the pictures to Pete C. who will decide what to do and will call a committee meeting as soon as possible.
Bush thanked the committee for all their hard work.
10. Closing Remarks
Berry thanked everyone for coming and said that it had been another successful year. We have raised over £20,000 for charities. He said that the beginners should be encouraged to play in groups. And should keep impetus in practice sessions. He thanked Lyn for her hard work, to Jude for her work on PA, and Glyn for his input and for help with Monday Nighters.
Jean Clack suggested that after the success of the “Summer Set List” we should now be looking at making a “Winter Set List”.
As there was no other business the meeting closed at 2025.
The outgoing chairman thanked everyone and remarked how the “Pluckers” had grown. He wanted special thanks to Jonjo for designing the poster for the Pompulele Festival, Janet for all her work with the beginners and the adult workshops, Berry for organising St Mary’s and for bringing Andy Eastwood along, Pete Riches for the Beer Festivals, which raised a lot of money, Chris, Jude and Stuart for their technical help, Tongues and Grooves for the loan of their PA equipment, Music Rood for their generous prizes, Jude and Glenn for organising Monday Nights and to Dave Grant for the Pompulele Song Book. He welcomed the committee. Pete said that he had ordered some lanyards which would be dark blue with white writing and ukuleles printed on them. He said that we should buy a metronome and that we should sort some Christmas songs and new set lists for the coming year.
As there was no other business, the meeting closed at 2040.
