4. Matters Arising: There were no matters arising

5. The Chairman’s annual report: So far there were 56 gigs booked this year, plus any further Christmas bookings. That’s 778 gigs since we started. The chairman would like to thank all Pluckers who have gigged this year without whom Pompey Pluckers would not be able to support local charities the way we do. Thanks also to all the committee, plus Liz and Pete R who with their offshoot groups have added a considerable amount to our charitable totals. A special thank you to Lyn who continues to coordinate gigs, lining up people etc. (the AGM meeting applauded Lyn).

A new chairman will be decided by the new committee at the first committee meeting after the AGM

6. Financial Matters - presentation and adoption of accounts. The treasurer circulated several copies of the Spread Sheet for year ending 30 September 2022. This continued to show reduced, but pleasingly now increasing, activity. The bank balance at 30th September 2022 was £3611.91. The current balance at the date of the AGM is £4,072. The income for PP for this FY was:

Income from fees and donations at gigs –this includes funds from several Taverners’ and Auckland Strummers’ gigs £3760

Income from PP Ukraine specific Fundraising gigs at Commercial Road £642.08 and at Gunwharf Quays £594.06 c£1240

Pete Riches asked that you be informed that the Misfits had two gigs (£300 each to Ukraine and Make) paid direct £ 750 including Gift Aid

TOTAL GLEANED FOR CHARITY £5750

Our donations to each of the three adopted charities, Age UK, Make and Parks, for the previous three years amounted to a total of £4750.

The chairman advised the AGM that, after discussion, the committee agreed that the final amount donated to our three charities should be £1000. This would leave £600 as a reasonable amount to cover contingencies such as equipment replacement. It would also mean that the Pompey Pluckers will have donated, in total to those three charities the sum of £15,750 over the four years, a great figure in the circumstances, (Covid etc).

7. Choosing local charity/charities to support.

As we had supported the previous charities for four years the committee recommended that we consider finalising our giving to them and considering other local charities to support. There were two local charities proposed and both were considered worthy causes. The charities are Solent Diabetic Association and Moving On Portsmouth. The AGM agreed unanimously to adopt both charities and for two years. Post meeting note: The charities have been informed and both have expressed their delight.

8. Changes to the group’s constitution: No changes were proposed

9. Election of the committee – Most of the committee had agreed to stand again with the exception of Graham C. Maggie Spyropoulos and Kev Penny volunteered to join the committee and were unanimously accepted.

10. Any Other Business. It was suggested that Gigging Pluckers appraise themselves of, and adhere to, Pompey Pluckers’ Gig Etiquette.

11. Date of next AGM: It was agreed that the next AGM be held on Thursday 2 November 2023.

The Chairman thanked everybody for attending and for their contributions to the AGM and duly closed the meeting at 2015.
