Hello... we are a diverse group of people living in and around Portsmouth UK, who love playing the ukulele and welcome new members of any ability. Since we started performing over 7 years ago, we have donated over £30,000 to local charities.
The charity we are supporting this year is The Mary Rose Community Special Academy for 142 pupils aged between 2 and 19 years with severe and complex learning disabilities. In addition to their learning disabilities many pupils have additional needs associated with Physical disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Medical conditions.
The money raised will buy I pads and equipment for their music department. Music is so important and an extremely powerful and motivated tool that allows for relevant and appropriate music making using genres of music that the students can relate to. Charity number 1048183
Past charities we've supported: The Rowan's Hospice (2011), Naomi House and Jack's Place (2012), The Elizabeth Foundation (2013), Wessex Cancer Trust (2014) Hampshire, Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (2015) Artscape (2106)

"Thanks again for giving us such an enjoyable evening. It was some achievement to get my husband dancing, although, if I'm honest, it was more jigging!" from V
"I have just been advised that we raised £1410.43 on Saturday an amazing amount, the most we have collected since 2011, which is brilliant. Your group performing made so much difference, it enabled us to raise so much money, thank you all very much, your support and help is so much appreciated. Please can I send my best wishes and thanks to all your group and wish them a peaceful Christmas and hopefully see them next year." from AL Rowans

> We are a non-profit-making community group, and currently have over 100 members. Our philosophy is simply that it's never too late nor too early to enjoy playing music with other people. Pompey Pluckers has been associated with the Portsmouth Music Hub since its formation in 2011.
