LOTR - 02May2013

After a heavy game of relic, it's always good to relax with a light game of Lord of the Rings Deckbuilding.

The fellowship of 3- Pavvo, Cavalock and Darthraider make their way through the Shire and Rivendell and vie for the bravest companion of all.

The fellowship

Pavvo as Legolas

Darthraider as Aragorn

Cavalock as Samwise

Note: due to the fast nature of this game, this play-by-play will be seen from Pavvo's point of view

Starting hand

Sticking to the theme, Legolas acquires his companion, Gimli, Son of Gloin

Hand of 4 power, including the bow. Acquired a Book of Mazarbul. Blind draws are never my forte.

Valour cards. Meh. Can't get anything else

The next turn, Legolas joins Gimli as an ally!

Gimli made an appearance and along with some courageous hobbits, defeat a Nazgul!

The next few turn saw acquisitions of many cards!

The Uruk-Hai, Watcher in the Water and a Moria Swarm falls to Legolas and his allies

After acquiring yet more cards, the end of the game beckons as the Archenemy deck grew thinner

Lurtz, the final Archenemy of the fellowship (in this move and game anyway) soon reared his ugly head!

Pavvo manages to deal Lurtz the final blow and end the game

Final score

Pavvo: 65

Darthraider: 53

Cavalock: 49

A game which plays itself more than the players do. With the options being obvious from turn to turn, the only outstanding value of this game were its images and screencaps from the movie.
