The PA Safety Inspection manual was updated in April 2022.

Warning:  Do Not Let Your State Inspection License Expire! 

Online recertification testing is now required.  You can begin your recertification 180 days from when your license expires.  If you have not yet received your notice from PennDOT and feel you should have, please call 717-787-2895.  If an inspector does not complete the recertification testing prior to expiration they will need to retake the entire 12 hour inspector course.  Click here for more information.   !Take your recertification test early, do not wait until the end of the 180 days!

Are you waiting to receive your PA inspection license after recently taking the written and tactile exam?  You need to go to www.patrainingportal.com and request your license.  If you added a category to your existing license it is possible that it does not show an option for you to request an updated card.  In that case you need to contact Parsons at 1-888-265-5909, Option 3, and request an updated card be sent to you.  

Were you under 18 when you took the inspection course but now you turned 18?  You will need to call PennDOT at (717) 787-2895 to request your inspection license be sent to you.
