If you recently completed the required inspection class and have passed both the written and tactile exams please be aware that the procedure to receive your physical inspection license has changed and requires one additional step.

The procedure to receive your inspection license from PennDOT is as follows:

Newly certified inspectors will need to visit www.patrainingportal.com to request their card. This request can be made 24 HOURS AFTER the passing grades have been entered in PennDOT's online inspection website.

Steps to receive your inspection license:

Step 1: If you already have an account, login to the training portal, www.patrainingportal.com, with your existing user ID and Password. If you don’t have an account, click on “Sign-Up” to setup a new account.

Step 2: Once logged in, click on the plus sign beside “New ID Card” to see if there is a new ID card(s) available.

Step 3: If you have already received a new Safety and/or Emissions ID card, the date(s) produced will be displayed. If there are card(s) available, continue to step 4.

Step 4: If there are cards available, click on the “order” button and follow the instructions to produce the card(s) and confirm/change the delivery address.
