Same Day Emergency Care 'SDEC'

The role will be covered by an Acute Medicine Consultant or Middle Grade who will ultimately decide on which site is most appropriate for the patient, taking into account the services available within our sites, but also taking into consideration the pressures and waiting times across the Trust, again to try and ensure, where possible, the pressure and burden are shared across our three main hospital sites (Grantham, Lincoln and Boston), while maintaining the best patient experience possible.

At the end of this pilot, the team at ULHT will review evidence collated and feedback from our partners to determine the future of this initiative. 

• A NEWS score should be provided by GPs to make sure patients are referred to the most appropriate service within ULHT

• GPs should review the inclusion and exclusion criteria (attached)

• The Trusted Assessor Service runs 8am-6pm, with new referrals not being accepted after 5pm for the same day but will be scheduled for the following day.
