Risk Assessments

Risk assessments are undertaken in the practice as part of the Health and Safety policy and procedures to identify and control and risks within the practice that could cause harm to staff, patients and visitors.

A risk assessment is about identifying sensible measures to control the risks in your workplace.

How we assess the risks

Identify the hazards

Decide who might be harmed and how

Evaluate those risks and decide on precautions to take

Record our findings

Review the assessments annually and update if necessary

If you, as an employee see something which could cause harm or injury you are to bring it to the attention of Lisa Baldwin, Practice Manager.

• • a hazard is anything that may cause harm, such as chemicals, electricity, working from ladders, an open drawer etc

  • the risk is the chance, high or low, that somebody could be harmed by these and other hazards, together with an indication of how serious the harm could be

The identified Risks in the practice are listed below, you are you as part of your Health and Safety Induction to read the Full Health and Safety Policy and Risk Assessments and to understand your role as the employee with regards to Health and Safety within the practice.
