The process for GPs to refer patients to the Paediatric Rapid Access Clinic or to obtain Consultant telephone advice Monday to Friday 0900 to 1700
The Paediatric Consultant teams at Lincoln County Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital, Boston are now providing Rapid Access Clinic slots for those patients who do not require an inpatient admission but do require a prompt assessment using our triaging process.
Please complete the referral form found within All Templates - Referral Forms - Rapid Access Clinics
Lincoln: ulh.acutepaediatricsecretaries@nhs.net
Pilgrim: ulh.pilgrimacutepaediatricssecretaries@nhs.net
Our Consultant of the week will triage the referral and, where accepted, the patient will be seen in one of our rapid access clinic slots. We will inform you of the outcome.
Alternatively, you may find a telephone conversation with our Consultant of the week beneficial. If so, please phone one of the numbers below (between 0900 and 1700 Monday to Friday only) to speak direct to the Consultant for advice.
This initiative is for GPs to access hot week Consultant support directly and contemporaneously when they are dealing with urgent or tricky paediatric patient queries in the GP Surgery during office hours Monday to Friday. The aim is to reduce inpatient admissions, and rapid access clinic referrals in a safe and effective manner by obtaining Consultant input.
