Thank you for choosing to enroll your son / daughter in Scouting! We are excited that you chose to join us at Pack 1776. Please follow the instructions below to start the journey. If you have any questions along the way, please contact our Committee Chair.
Each scout (girl or boy, kindergarten through 5th grade) who is new to Cub Scouts need to register with the BSA.
If your child is new to scouts, register online with the BSA. Please NOTE that you will be required to pay the prorated BSA Membership fee for the remaining months of the current year with a credit card.
If your child is already registered with another Pack, you will have to fill out a BSA paper application to transfer your Scout to our unit. You may contact our Committee Chair to request an application.
Pay Pack Dues (PAY ONLINE or with check/cash at any Den, Pack, or Committee Meeting).
Purchase the single Pack number patch for your scout's uniform - at a Pack Meeting
Purchase a Pack T-shirt for your Scout - at a New Parent Night or a Pack Meeting
Purchase a Cub Scout Uniform at a local Scout shop. Just tell the scout shop which grade your scout is in and they will help you with what you need. Note that the link provided is for the Tiger uniform. Lion, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos have different uniforms.
If you didn't receive a rank book at Join Scout Night, you should purchase one from the Scout Shop as well. The Pack may have some on sale at Pack Meetings.
After you receive your welcome email from Scoutbook (generally within 3 - 7 days of registration), take a moment to confirm and add any additional contact information into your profile. If you need to add your spouse to receive email, let your Den Leader know.
Parents take Youth Protection Training (takes about 90 minutes online). Turn in a digital copy your Den Leader once finished.

If you did not register online in Step #1, Create an account.
Navigate to Home -> My Dashboard
Youth Protection Training -> Take Course.
Parents complete the Family Talent Survey and turn that in at your next Den or Pack event.
Parents and the scout need to each review and sign the Pack Conduct Statement.
Attend the new parent orientation, which is usually held around a week after the fall information night.
Adults signing up for Den or Pack leadership roles must register with the BSA.
If you have never been registered as an adult with the BSA, register online with the BSA.
If you have previously registered as an adult leader with the BSA, you will need to complete a BSA paper application. You can request an application from our Committee Chair.
Take Youth Protection Training (takes about 90 minutes online at my.scouting.org) and let our Pack Trainer know when you are done.
Purchase the Pack number patch for your uniform - $5 each (at Pack Meeting or Pay Online and pickup at Pack Meeting).
Purchase a Pack T-shirt for yourself - $10 each (at Pack Meeting or Pay Online and pickup at Pack Meeting).
Purchase a Adult Leader Uniform (at a local Scout shop)
After you receive your Scoutbook invitation email, take a moment to confirm and add any additional contact information into your profile.
Take your position specific online training at myscouting.scouting.org. Save and email a copy of the certificate(s) to the Pack Trainer.
Take any in-person leader-specific training required for your position. Courses are offered through our district twice a year. Reference the Golden Arrow District's website for more information. Email a copy of your training certificate(s) to the Pack Trainer.
Attend a new leader orientation, which is usually held at the beginning of the year after the fall information night.
