彼女は1992年英国歌手クリフ・リチャードのコーラスで初来日を踏んだ。以降　ソロとして度々来日。私たち家族は、息子（当時小学生）でも分かりやすい出し物をと、学園青春ドラマ「Grease!」に決め観覧した。Broadway　Musical通常午後8時開演。この出し物に限り子供らにBroadway　Musicalのステージを7時半から開演まで解放し、希望する子供はステージ上で思い思いのダンスをして開演を待ちました。

年の瀬の時期で　全米から全世界からのお客さんで満席。MCが退屈しないように　前列に座るお客に客いじり。前列２番目のいい席の私は、近づくMCに家族共々ドキドキ！　米国人家族なら「何州からNYに来ました？」　やっぱマイクを向けられた「Where do U come from?」と「What are your name?」で「TokyoとKato」と答え恥をかか無かった。芝居が始まり　授業がつまらないなる頃　先生役は「Don’t take a nap!＝昼寝ないで」のセリフまでは良いが、「Don’t take a nap,　KATO?」とステージから名指しされた。

息子らも英語は？？？だが楽しんだみたい。何度もあったカーテンコール　でも最後カーテンコーコール時　先生役が、ステージで使っていた手袋を　私の所に近づきプレゼントされた。

そして、「Listen Kato, Don’t forget your study every day! Good night! ＝いい　加藤　勉強を忘れないで　おやすみなさい」も最高の思い出になった。息子は　私に「お父さん　先生とお友達？」と真剣に聞いてきた。
